MARCOTEX was born in 1965 from the transformation of a textile trade company with an exporting vocation into a company with productive capacity and redirected to the portuguese domestic market.
This productive capacity, along with some relevant portuguese textile and clothing companies, as well as the knowledge of the domestic textile retail market developed until the mid-1980s, created the conditions to cease the industrial activity and devoted itself exclusively to the activity of agency of both domestic and European clothing brands. It is at this stage that there is a new change in the structure of the company in which António da Costa Pinto, meanwhile sole shareholder of the company's capital, integrates into the company his sons António and Miguel.
This agency activity performed until the present time allows MARCOTEX to manage and develop a good and credible relationship with all partners, to overpass and flourish throughout the various economic and social "moments" and within that spirit to honour the disappearance of its founding partner that has occurred in 2016.
